Obit 5-14-1934-- Peter Schirf of 2516 third avenue, a retired employ of the altoona works, died at a local hospital at 1:10 o'clock yesterday afternoon of a complication of diseases after being ill for some time. He was born in Sharpsburg on Aug 16 1856, a son of Jacob and Gertrude (Heiler) Schirf, who resided for many years in Cambria County. His wife Mrs Theresa (Stolts) Schirf died on Jan 20 of this year. Surviving are five sons and two daughters
Denis A schirf of the city, Thomas J of Anadarko Oklahoma, Frank A Schirf and Mrs Nicholas F Shank of the city, Nicholas Schirf of Antis township, Mrs E J Strohmeyer of Niles Ohio, and Edward E of the city. Two brothers and one sister, Giles Schirf of Latrobe, John of Nicktown, and Mrs Sabina Lulay of Oregon, also survive. Mr Schirf was a member of St Mary's Catholic Church. The body may be viewed at the home. The Funeral will be held Thursday morning with requiem mass at 9:00 O'clock in St Mary's Church. Interment will be made in St Mary's Cemetery.

!Obit 1-20-1934-Mrs Theresa Schirf wife of Peter Schirf of 1706 second avenue, died at her home at 2:10 O'clock this morning of a complication of diseases. She was born in Barr Township, Cambria County, on April 5 1857, a daughter of Peter and Barbara Stoltz. Surviving are seven sons and daughters.
Thomas of Anadarko Okla.,Mrs Edward Strohmeyer of Niles Ohio, Denis, Frank, Mrs Mary Shank, Nicholas, and Edward all of the city; fifty-one grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, one brother and two sisters, Peter Stoltz of Portage, Mrs Margaret James of Trenton NJ and Miss Mary Stoltz of Barr township. Mrs Schirf was a member of St Mary's Catholic Church. The body may be viewed at the home. The funeral will be held Monday morning with requiem mass at 9:00 O'clock in St Mary's Church. Internment will be made in St Mary's Cemetery.

Obit-1935--Joseph Schirf son of Conrad and Thelma (Wassom) Schirf, the former deceased died at the Spangler Hospital at 8 o'clock thursday night. He was born at Nicktown on Dec 23 1915 and was ill only a week. Surving are his mother, one brother, William Schirf, and Mrs Andrew Thomas and MIss Thelma Wassom of Carrolltown, Mrs Joseph Peters of nicktown, half sisters and Frank Schirf, half brother of Carrolltown. The deceased was a member of the United MIne Workers of America, scooutmaster of the Bakerton Boy Scout Troop, and a member of St Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown, from where the funeral will be conducted at 9 o'clock Monday morning. Internment will be in St Nicholas cemetery, Nicktown.
